This jewelry box is a real masterpiece. It is both gorgeous and practical. Top and bottom of the box are made of single pieces of pear tree wood, which were first hand-carved and then painstakingly encrustated (or inlaid) with hundreds of pieces of different color wood (5 types), beads (6 types), glass and metal (3 kinds). Finally the box was varnished to give it the irresistible shine.
Picture of this item does not do any justice to the real thing. The box is much more beautiful than it looks on a picture.
